Lost in the Depths, is an interactive exhibit that takes visitors on a deep dive into the devastating effects of shark finning. All while shedding light on the crucial role these magnificent creatures play in our ecosystem.
The primary goal of this exhibit is to offer an educational and immersive experience to visitors, providing them with the opportunity to learn about calm sharks by simulating an environment that feels like swimming alongside them. The exhibit entrance will envelop visitors in a lifelike aquatic environment with water movements projected onto the walls and floors, while a continuous shark video playing on the ceiling will further enhance the experience. This interactive approach aims to engage visitors and leave a lasting impression, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of sharks.
The exhibit's initial section will concentrate on educating visitors about sharks and their role in the environment. The visual elements used in this segment will emphasize calmness and tranquillity to dispel the negative perception surrounding sharks.
The exhibit design will then shift to a darker tone, reflecting the serious topic of shark finning and its destructive practices. To convey the gravity of this issue, stark photography and jarring typography will be incorporated, creating an impactful and thought-provoking display.
To ensure an engaging and interactive experience, the exhibit will offer visitors a chance to explore different sections at their own pace through interactive screens.
These screens will allow visitors to delve deeper into the information presented and learn more about sharks in an immersive way. Videos will also be played throughout the exhibit, providing additional visual context and information.
The exhibit will conclude with three panels that present different methods to combat shark finning. Each method will be accompanied by a QR code that, when scanned, will direct visitors to a website with a comprehensive list of resources they can access. This interactive approach emphasizes the importance of providing visitors with options so that they can choose the method that best aligns with their individual preferences and goals.
